Should I Choose Airbrush Make-up For My Wedding Day?

Hello everyone

My name is Jillian Elizabeth and I am a Scottish Make-up Artist who specialises in airbrush make-up. I always get brides asking questions about the airbrush make-up and whether it will be right for them so I thought I would write this useful blog answering as many questions as possible.

The airbrush make-up that I use is the highest quality silicone-based makeup formula on the market and has the following properties:

  • Silicone-based formula
  • Long lasting for all-day wear
  • Oil free, non-comedogenic, and hypoallergenic
  • Customizable color

What is airbrush make-up?Airbrush make-up is the name given to make-up that is sprayed on to your skin using an airbrush machine instead of being applied with brushes, sponges etc. This allows precise application and a flawless lightweight and long lasting coverage.

How long does it last?

The professional airbrush make-up I use is extremely long lasting and will last you all day and evening. The only make-up you will need to reapply is your lipstick or gloss which naturally wears off once you start to eat and drink.
I recently used my airbrush make-up on an underwater music video and it lasted perfectly on the girls even underwater.

*Client Feedback*
" Our airbrushed make up stayed on perfectly all day and we all got loads of compliments! So glad we chose the right Mua for the job!" Lindsay R
"We loved our makeup.. and after many tears, the makeup amazingly stayed put!" Emma R
"Jillian did our wedding make up and wow, what a great result. I trusted her assurance it would stay on all day and from beginning to end it did. We all felt amazing!! There was no need to look in the mirror, not one touch up was needed. " Lee-Anne A

Is it heavy/ thick?
No, the airbrush make-up feels really lightweight on your skin, I have had a lot of client feedback saying that they barely notice they are wearing any make-up as it feels so natural. You can have either a light natural coverage or a full coverage without it being heavy or looking caked on.

What does it look like on my skin?
Airbrush make-up looks like perfectly flawless foundation! It gives a beautiful even complexion and can cover up any skin imperfections eg acne, scarring and redness.

Here are some of my unedited before and after pictures of airbrush make-up:

Ok I like the sound of that, whats included in the price?
  • A mini facial treatment using Dermalogica skincare to fully prep your skin for make-up
  • A full face of make-up including contouring and the airbrush make-up
  • Strip lashes

What do clients say about the airbrush make-up? *Client feedback*
"I loved the make-up. I've never had airbrush foundation before but the difference was amazing, so flawless and light, it didn't feel like wearing normal make-up. Jillian brought out my best features and made my eyes pop: as someone who works with make-up, I'm a fussy client, but I was thrilled with the result and felt beautiful." - Sarah

"I was so happy with my make up on my wedding trials and on the day. Thank you for making me a beautiful bride on my wedding day! Make up lasted from noon to night and looked and felt fab! Highly recommend Jillian to future brides to be. Professional service with a big smile" - Rhona

I'm not sure on the exact look I would like can i have a trial?
Yes, it is highly recommended that all brides come for a trial to reduce the time on the wedding day and to make sure I find the perfect look for you! During this time we talk about your big day and your expectations when it comes to make-up so I can create the perfect look for you.

What are trials like, do you just give me one look?
Trials take place at my professional studio in Dundee and during this time I will try out a variety of different looks until we find the best look for you. As always it starts with a mini facial treatment using dermalogica skincare then move on to finding your perfect look.
While we try out different looks there is always a selection of bubbly, cocktails, wine, cupcakes and goodies for you to add that little bit extra pampering.

Ok I have all of the information I need, how can I book?
I can hold your wedding date for one week after your initial enquiry to allow you to decide if you would like to book in or not, after that time you are required to come and sign your bridal contract and pay your retainer fee.
The bridal contract protects both of us, it means I will not back out of your wedding and secures your wedding, and your wedding only for your date.

You can follow the link to my website for all pricing and information and can email me through the Contact page on my website.
