Your Wedding make-up Start To Finish

I often get asked from brides to be how they will decide what make-up look to go for, if they can still look natural with air brush make-up and what happens during a trial so I thought I would put together a little blog featuring one of this years weddings!

Firstly I welcome brides to be into my professional make-up studio here in Dundee. We have a little chat over cupcakes and wine (although I just have some water) to get to know each other and to give me a better idea of the kind of look you would like to go for with your wedding make-up.

Your wedding make-up is very personal, and whether you would like a very natural look with a light foundation coverage or a darker smokey eye with a heavy foundation coverage my aim is to ensure we find the exact right look for you.

I use a full range of professional products including Dermalogica, MAC, Illamasqua, Urban Decay, Temptu and much more. I also specialise in bridal airbrush make-up that creates a long lasting and flawless natural or full foundation coverage.

When Leonie and her bridesmaid Charlotte came into my studio for a trial we had a great chat about the colours and themes for the wedding and what both girls expected from the make-up and how they would like to look.

I was so excited about Leonies wedding as her Theme was Alice in Wonderland!!! Wow, I was so excited to meet someone who was actually having a themed wedding!! And Alice in Wonderland.... What an amazing book, film and an amazing wedding theme!!!

Leonie is naturally beautiful and wanted a natural look with the flawless coverage that the airbrush foundation provides. She wanted a soft smokey eye that wasn't too harsh but was still a little bit more drama than the typical bridal look.

I tried a few different looks to show her different colours and techniques of natural smokey eyes until we got to the look below that was just perfect for Leonie. I used the Urban decay Original Naked palette for the eyes with flicked Illamasqua precision gel eyeliner, finished with some Ardell lashes. I used the wonderful airbrush foundation and a pale pink blush and MAC Faux lipstick.

Once we had created the perfect look for Leonie I moved onto her Bridesmaid Charlotte. The brides maids dresses were a beautiful royal blue so we decided to go for a subtle blue smokey eye using MAC eyeshadow and a small back flick using Illamasqua Precision Gel Eyeliner again finishing off with Ardell lashes. I again used the airbrush foundation, pale pink blush and MAC faux Lipstick.

The girls left pampered and happy looking forward to the big day with one less thing to organise and worry about. And I was lest mega excited to be a part of Leonie's big day!

Fast Forward a few months and here we are getting ready for the big day! As always I arrive with plenty of time to ensure I have time to fit in everyone for make-up and have extra time to spare just incase.

Leonie was kind enough to let me share these pictures of her big day and to give me some feedback on the make-up services I provided.
"Being honest meeting you felt like meeting an old friend I haven't seen in a while, you made us feel so welcome and relaxed and did such an amazing job."

Luckily for me my amazing photographer friend Kirsty of  Memento Studios was photographing Leonie and Dan's  beautiful wedding so I have some very special pictures to share with you. This also meant that I got to assist Kirsty for the rest of the wedding so I got to see all of the amazing Alice and Wonderland props and get to the this amazing couples whole day.

I hope you have enjoyed this blog and that it is useful. All pricing and information on bridal make-up can be found on my website.
