Urban Decay Dundee Make-up Masterclass

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE URBAN DECAY!!!! The original naked palette is my one stop shop for eye make up and the more of their products I use the more I love them!!

A few weeks ago myself and my two gorgeous friends went along to meet the amazing Hana at the Dundee counter in Debenhams for a Make-up Masterclass :D

I was soooooo excited because one I love learning new make-up tricks and techniques and two, its been so long since anyone else has out make-up on me it was going to be such a treat!!

On arrival we got some wine and great little goodie bags with some samples to try.

Hana asked us if there was anything we wanted to focus on, skin, eyes, eyebrows lips etc and built us the perfect look around what we wanted :D

She went into to great detail and showed us how to apply the looks and the best products to use for our skin. She also drew us face charts replicating the look so we knew how to recreate them at home. We had so much fun and it was just such a chilled out and relaxed atmosphere.

After it we felt absolutely gorgeous so here is some of our selfies.

I braved it and took a before and after picture of myself!! For me personally I loved the masterclass because I never treat myself. My make-up looks the same every day and I never really have time to do different looks that are just for me. This is a look that I would never really do on my self, which is exactly what I wanted!!! I rarely trust anyone else to do my make-up and Hana just aced it!!!

We treated ourself to some new make-up after the masterclass :D I 100% recommend this experience for anyone wanting to pick up some tips and learn how to use these gorgeous make-up products.

Natural smokey eye using the new Urban Decay smokey eyes palette

I am so in love with the new urban decay smokey eyes palette :) its so perfect for creating every kind of smokey eye possible!!

To start with I decided to go for a natural smokey eye as its nice and easy to do and great for a day or evening look :)

1. Apply eye primer then buff combust into the crease line using a blending brush

2. Buff whiskey into the outer corner or the crease line and press into the outer corner of the lid using the smokey eye brush

3. Buff thirteen under the brow bone and into the inner corner then press high onto the lid using a shadow brush

4. Brush your brows and fill them in with whiskey

5. Apply some winged perversion eyeliner

6. Apply 2 coats of perversion mascara

Its as easy as that :) Here is a pic of me with the rest of my make up on and my gorgeous natural smokey eyes :)

What do you think?

Back to MAC

Its no secret that I LOVE MAC Cosmetics, I just think their lipsticks are to die for!!
Recently I have been hearing alot about the Back to MAC scheme so I thought I would give it a go.

Basically you return 6 empty Mac make-up containers and they will give you a free lipstick!! AMAZING!!

On the website MAC says:
"Because we share your commitment to the environment, M·A·C accepts returns of its primary packaging through the Back to M·A·C Program. By returning six [6] M·A·C primary packaging containers to a M·A·C counter, you will receive a free M·A·C Lipstick of your choice as our thanks to you. Since 100% of the retail selling proceeds of Viva Glam Lipstick is provided to organizations that help people living with HIV/AIDS, these colours are excluded from this program.

In countries where it is permissible, the returned packaging is forwarded to appropriate waste management centres to recycle/reuse through energy recovery. M·A·C will continue to explore alternative means of waste disposal in all markets."

So here is what I took back.

I was in Aberdeen for the day so I went to the MAC store there, the artist that helped me was so friendly and was telling me how great back to MAC is and about the containers being recycled!!

I decided to go for Velvet Teddy as clients have been asking if I have it and i just looks so gorgeous on.

Here I am wearing it!!! Its so different from my normal every day purple lipstick but I am really loving it, the texture is amazing and it feels so good on. Its nice to have a bit of a change.

I couldn't help myself, had to pick up a few other colours aswell :D

Have you ever heard of or tried back to MAC before? Why not give it a go!!!

Super hero/ Comic painting

Hello all

Recently Ive been really into doing body paintings that look like pictures, paintings or comics, I just love the idea of some one glancing at a body paint and thinking its an actual painting or drawing on a canvas instead of a person.

Water colour paint/ Black and white drawing

Human canvas from practice to photo shoot

Human canvas

After trying out a few different styles I decided I wanted to try out some super heros/ comics etc and see if I can make they look like a comic or drawn image.

Wonder Woman

Photo Shoot of Wonder Woman body paint

Cheetara from Thundercats

She-ra

 Harley Quinn

Id love to try out some more and Id love to hear what you all think :D

I really need a bit more practice I getting these looks perfect and then I can try more out on models!!!

The Beautiful Adeles Wedding Make-up

A few months ago I had the pleasure of doing wedding make-up for the gorgeous bride Adele. Her and her brides maids had all come in for a trial so it was great to catch up with them on the wedding day. Every one was in the best of moods and the atmosphere was so chilled and fun.

Here is a picture of the gorgeous Adele enjoying her day and looking fantastic!! Such a beautiful photograph captured by Simons studio.

Here is the beautiful Adele herself. This is what she had to say about her make-up:

"Jillian Elizabeth thank you so much for my wedding make up! It was beautiful and lasted all day and night!! I would definitely recommend you to everyone. The whole bridal party were happy with their make-up. Thank you again xx"

This is what her friend had to say about her make-up
"Absolutely loved my make-up yesterday thank you so much."

I really love using the airbrush make-up for weddings, it really is just so long lasting and provides such a perfect flawless finish.

T in the park/ Festival beauty must haves :)

Its Festival season and its almost time for T in the park!!! Its so much fun singing and dancing and being with your friends in the wonderful hot (Scottish) Summer weather, cameras and phones will be out and there will be selfies left right and center so here is a few tips to make sure you are looking your best!!!!

Suncream

Lets just throw this one out there right at the start! You need to wear it, its not that expensive and you can pick up a bottle in most shops... dont get skin cancer or blistering burns... just wear a bit of cream!!

Your Make-up

These are my ultimate make-up must haves for holiday or festival season!!! Just a few key products that can be the base for any look!!!
-Urban Decay All Nighter Make-up Setting spray - Spray this both before and after for long lasting make-up setting!! I juts LOVE this product and your make-up really will last all day and night!
-Mac Pro Longwear Concealer - All I can say is you need this in your life!!! Its the concealer sent from heaven
-Mac Studio Fix Foundation - this is great for both natural and full coverage
-Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette - This 3 colour palette is your best friend, highlight, contour/ bronze and blush all in one product!!
-Elf Eyebrow Palette - Get your brows on point!!
Mac Violette Lipstick - Bright gorgeous lips are a must and this is my favourite colour in the world!
Topshop Lip Gloss - I just picked this up a few days ago and its to die for!

Your Hair

Curls are great for the first day as you can style your hair at home or pop into Cosmetique and let us do it for you. Your hair will be bouncy and gorgeous all day and the next day you might even be lucky to have loose waves or you can easily pin it up.

Updos are great for festivals as your hair is up and out of your way and also looks great. Loose messy styles are in right now so even if you throw it up yourself after a night of camping it will still look great!

Braids are great as you can throw your hair into a braid in 5 minutes, its up out your way, you don't need to think about and it will last all day :) This is a great second or third day hair style as your hair wont have been washed for a few days so this can disguise any greasy hair!!

Floral, chain and beaded head bands look great and whatever you do don't forget the dry shampoo!!

Your Body

Sometimes its difficult to shower when going to festivals so make sure you have a packet of baby wipes, deodorant and some perfume or body spray to help keep you fresh. Baby wipes can take off your make-up (as an alternative to your usual cleanse, tone and moisturise routine for a few days) and also can keep you fresh. Antibacterial handwash is a must for staying hygienic.

As for sun cream, lotions, eye make-up remover and moisturiser why not pick up these handy empty cosmetic bottle from primark for just £1 and fill them up with your faves!

 Your Eye Lashes

Weekend Lashes or strip lashes are just perfect for festivals. Weekend lashes will last you the whole weekend, you wont need to apply mascara and you will look fab. Strip lashes can be applied every morning and can range from natural to full. These will last for one day but you can re apply them all weekend.

Your Nails

Gelish and Shellac nails are long lasting and chip resistant. This is a gel polish that is applied on top of your natural nails and can last up to three weeks. This is a service we provide at Cosmetique.

You can get gel or acrylic nails (at this time we do not provide this service) or even buy some stick on nails if you fancy.

Enjoy your time at T in the park or whichever festival you attend this summer :)
